Gathering
on a beautiful cliff overlooking Long Island Sound, we will build a ceremonial stone cairn - known as an Apacheta in the Peruvian
tradition - to ground our intentions for earth-honoring community and our personal visions for bringing forth our gifts in
service to our communities and the Earth.
The Apacheta
pictured above was created with Elders of the Q'eros people in Peru and my traveling companions in June of 2008.
When
you place a stone on an apacheta, it links you to all the other people who have placed their stones there. An apacheta
is a hub in a network of ley lines that connect all the sacred places on the Earth. It radiates healing energy into the Earth
and outward.
There are cairns all over the world that are helping to send the flow of loving energy to Pachamama
and to join people together in common purpose.
Equinox
is a time when day and night are equal and I love the idea of consciously being awake and in sacred space from sun-up to sundown
and experiencing the center point of balance and alignment with the larger cycles around noon.
