Go on Your Own!

Intergenerational Event: People of All Ages Welcome.

Awaken Wonder in Your Child and Yourself!

Join us for an exciting walk into the rising

full moon on an exquisite local beach

with a long sandbar stretching out into the bay.

where we'll share a brief meditative circle, and perhaps some music and sharing.

Share magical memories together!

This walk is held on the night when

the full moon rises at about the same time the sun sets

(or the day before or after if raining/snowing)

Just call me or e-mail and let me know you are interested.

I try to go every month from May to October, and would always enjoy company.

Bring a Flashlight, and comfortable shoes.

We meet at the end of Nassau Point Road.

A Southold Town Parking Sticker is needed

(Available at Town Hall for $6).

Call if you need to carpool.

Our Full-Moon Walk

For Jeanne Merkel

The moon,

hanging low and radiant

like a shining pearl

in its ancient mystery

and splendor hung

from the neck of night.

as on that wonderful eve,

we walked and skittered

across an empty beach.

In the excited silence,

we believed together

in our unspoken peace.

By,  Andrew Gregg

Andrew was a member of my Youth Group at the First Universalist Church of Southold.  He wrote this poem in 1998, as a gift to me, in honor of my leaving to begin my  studies at Union Theological Seminary.  It has always been precious to me.
