SoulCollage is a process of making a set of soul-tending cards (like Tarot Cards) to assist you in learning more about your inner life and in accessing your own inherent wisdom and guidance. The process draws from Jungian work with dreams, archetypes & symbols . This wonderful technique was developed by Seena Frost as described in her book SoulCollage.

A Soul Collage Deck includes 4 suits:

Committe Suit (Honoring all the Parts of your Personality),

Community Suit (Cards to honor your personal support network),

Companion Suit (Honors your Animal Totems and the Chakras),

Council Suit (Honors those archetypal forces that deepen and enrich our lives and call us into alignment with a larger Vision.)

It also includes a Source Card, Soul Essence Card and Transpersonal Witness Card. (See examples below)

We access the wisdom of these cards by doing readings - a fun process that is easy to learn. Readings can be done to request guidance for an issue in your life, or to get to know the different voices within your psyche or the archetypes and animal companions that have come to bring you guidance.

Through a dialogue process you learn what they have to teach you and what they are asking of you.

In our SoulCollage workshops we will learn ways of working with images to allow our inner wisdom to come forth in a safe and supportive environment. Collage is a powerful medium for self-expression and self-exploration and it is also accessible to all of us, regardless of our artistic experience. So, do not be shy if you don't feel you are an "artist." We all can recover our visual voices and learn to express ourselves through images! Come and explore the possibilities!

Jeanne Marie Merkel completed the SoulCollage facilitator training with Seena Frost in June of 2004. She is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in NY City, and is a lifetime student of Psychology, Spirituality and Creativity. She currently works as a Retreat and Workshop facilitator, and does Spiritual Counseling and Rites of Passage, as well as SoulCollage Workshops. She is the mother of 3 grown daughters, and a grandmother, and takes great joy in nurturing spiritual growth and soul friendship in open-hearted community. SoulCollage^®Mini- Introduction

Join us for a delicious taste of the process of SoulCollage - a fabulous way of accessing your inner wisdom using collaged cards. Each person will have the opportunity to have a mini reading for guidance for their life.

Come just for the morning or stay for a pot-luck lunch (12-2 pm) In honor of the Spring Equinox & the afternoon session:

SoulCollage^®Card Open Studio

SAT. MARCH 20, 2010 2-5 PM $20

Beginning in March 2010, I will host an Open Studio once a month, where anyone can come and make SoulCollage cards together. This is an opportunity to learn more about the different suits in the SoulCollage deck and to nurture your creative life! SoulCollage^® Introductory Workshop

All Day Workshop

Cost: $60 includes materials and lunch

(This workshop is offered whenever 4 people request it - So Ask!)

In this Introductory workshop, we will learn all the basics of creating and using a SoulCollage deck. We will learn about each of the 4 suits and how to do a reading with SoulCollage cards, and we will have plenty of time to make cards together.

Collage materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own magazine pictures or photos (printed on non-glossy paper)

Please bring a pair of scissors.

Special Note:

This program could also be offered to a group as a weekend retreat:

$200 for weekend (Friday eve - Sunday 3 pm)(before meals & accomodations)

(I am willing to travel within the New York/North East region, to lead this workshop for your group. and can customize it to meet your group's needs.)

SoulCollage^® : Exploring Archetypes

Archetypes are those universal patterns found in cultures throughout the world that represent powerful forces within our psyches and communities. Archetypal figures include: The Hero/Heroine, The Healer, The Teacher, The Muse, The Great Mother; as well as mythic figures such as Demeter & Persephone, Merlin, Dionysus, Artemis and Athena and many more!

You may have felt drawn to one or more of these figures in your life - that is because they are calling to you - to help you realize your strengths and gifts and your potential.

In this workshop we will explore the archetypes that are at work in your life, create SoulCollage Cards to honor one or two of them, and then dialogue with your images to hear their wisdom.

Archetypes are part of the Council Suit in SoulCollage. Come meet your inner guides: Your Council of Wisdom!

Cost for Archetype workshop: $30 with materials, please bring scissors and any images you would like to use - I will have some available.

Integrating SoulCollage^®and theTransformational Power of Ritual

SoulCollage and Transformational Ritual are natural partners. The very act of setting aside time to consult our inner wisdom transforms our everyday lives into a sacred journey. In this workshop we will explore daily personal rituals that can enhance our SoulCollage work, and engage in ritual together as a way of fostering heart-felt sacred community as we bear witness to one another's souls and life journies.
