Inviting the Soul
to Fully Inhabit the Body
Movement as Meditation
Movement is a profound way of centering
the Body, Spirit and Emotions
and experiencing the Ecstatic Joy of Living!
This workshop draws on Jeanne's lifetime love of dance and her work with Movement
as Image with Carolyn Bilderback at Union Theological Seminary, Movement Therapy Classes at Antioch College, Authentic Movement, Contemplative
Dance, Tai Chi and Yoga.
No dance experience is necessary.
Just come move and be moved.
This can be offered as a one time workshop or as a monthly group. It can be held indoors
or in a nature setting.
Isadora
Duncan begins her dance with a stillness, a waiting. When she moves her dance
arises from a center so deep, that one is brought into the presence of Being itself.
She begins her dance classes with these words:
"Listen
to the music with your soul. Now, while listening,
do
you not feel an inner self awakening deep within you --
that
it is by its strength that your head is lifted,
that
your arms are raised,
that
you are walking slowly toward the light."
"Plunge
your soul in divine unconscious Giving
Deep
within the music
Until
it gives to your soul its Secret."
From My Life by Isadora Duncan
The
great sea has set me in motion
set
me adrift
moving
me as the weed in a river
The
sky and the strong wind
Have
moved the spirit inside me
Till
I am carried away
Trembling
with joy.
