A Six to Seven week Discussion Course
Using curriculum from the Northwest Earth Institute
$20 Fee includes Book
This Discussion Group will be offered again in the Spring of 2010, at Jeanne's home in Mattituck.
Please e-mail us if you are interested, and let us know what days of the week are best for you. We will contact
you as soon as we get a sense of what day will work for most people. (We may skip a week to avoid holidays - so don't
worry about that.)
Voluntary Simplicity is a purposeful way of simplifying your life and bringing it into alignment with your
deepest values. In this 6-7 week course we will learn how to move away from consumerism
and live more with less; examine our relationship with money, work and success; and take steps to reclaim our time and our
lives for what we most value. We will gain understanding of the connection between our lifestyle choices and the condition
of the Earth and move toward a more Earth-friendly way of living.
This discussion course was created by the Northwest Earth Institute, and comes
with a handbook of fabulous reading and discussion guidelines for each session. The
group will be convened by Jeanne Marie Merkel, a workshop and retreat facilitator who has been living the simple life
for many years. Group members will take turns with co-leading the group,
as one objective of the course is empowering people to share the vision of simple living with others. (Not to worry – this is made easy!)
We need 2 weeks to order Discussion Course Guides,
so please call to register as soon as possible.
This course was offered twice at Anam Cara Center's Southold location, and
was received enthusiastically. Below is our 2005 class at their closing celebration.
