Soul Friend Reflections
Dear Friends,
In April, I lost my father to Parkinson’s Disease. It has been an inward, reflective journey for me—the first time one loses a parent, and realizes it is time to step into the elder
role. My sincere thanks to all
my friends in the Anam Cara Community for
their support, prayers, and nurturing.
I will be traveling
to Ireland, to Mullaghmore, the sacred mountain in County Clare, for a 10 day Vision Quest: May 18—28. The time is so right for this journey. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers, as the purpose of any Quest is to come back with new vision
for the community. It has become so clear to me, just how precious this community
we have nurtured together is—not only to me, but to all who have been a part of it.
I feel so blessed to know each one of you and to have shared in your journey.
People often ask me: “What is Anam Cara Center?” It is a hard
question to answer. We don’t fit into any prescribed form or religious category.
Although we are a bookstore and spiritual center, we are much more than that; and the outward markers of what is a
“successful” venture, don’t touch the depth of the friendships we have formed. We are about Presence: Being
present for one another. “A Soul Friend Community” is the best answer
I can give. Thank you for co-creating this community with me.
Let’s make it strong in the year to come!
With Blessings & Affection,
Jeanne Marie
