calling all people
of vision
to answer your calling
from Spirit by adding a stone of intention to
our apacheta (stone
cairn)
and taking
your place in our local
(and global)
network of Visionaries.
On the Fall
Equinox 2009, we gathered on a beautiful cliff overlooking Long Island Sound, on my land in Mattituck, New York, to build
a ceremonial stone cairn - known as an Apacheta in the Peruvian tradition -
to ground our intentions for earth-honoring community and our personal visions for bringing forth our gifts in service to
our communities and the Earth.
When you
place a stone on an apacheta, it links you to all the other people who have placed their stones there. An apacheta is
a hub in a network of ley lines (known as a ceque system in Peru) that connect all the sacred places on the Earth. It radiates
healing energy into the Earth and outward.
There are cairns all over the world that are helping to send the flow of loving energy to Pachamama
and to join people together in common purpose.
We had a
wonderful gathering of both adults and children, and the pouring forth of communal spirit was delightful. The next morning
I went out to the Apacheta to bring offerings, and just as I arrived a flock of wild geese flew overhead from West to East
- an opening of the passage betwen the worlds. Blessings to all who participated, and who will continue to bring their
gifts and presence into heart-felt community with us.
If you were
not able to come to the Fall Equinox Gathering, but would like to bring/send a stone for the Apacheta, please call Jeanne
at 298-8604. If you were there, or if you want to add another stone to honor an intention, or to connect
us with a site that is sacred to you, you are welcome to do so. Just bring the stone to the next gathering
you attend and come 15 minutes early, so that you can place the stone with intention.
I'd also be happy to meet with you to place your
stone with full ceremonial acknowledgement.

If you would like to build an Apacheta at
a site that has sacred resonance for you, let me know. I would be happy to facilitate this. Just let me know.
